appx. 2,5 hours from Hamburg and just 50 km from the
gates of Rostock.
It is nestled in meadows, pastures and lake Teterower
See in the middle of the nature
reserve called "Mecklenburgische Schweiz".
The mansion was built in the style of classicism and
is under a preservation order.
It is surrounded by an 8 hectare park and a 100 hectare
golf course.
In the Middle Age, the estate Teschow was the leasehold
property of the Mecklenburgian
Wutzen (or Wutzenitz) family. From 1585 on, over the
next centuries, the leaseholder
changed quite often, until district councilman Ernst
von Blücher bought the estate in 1835,
together with the small estate Hagensruhm near Neukalen.
The Blücher family owned the estate until shortly
after World War II. In May of 1945,
it became a handling place for about 8.000 Russians.
Shortly after, all landowners lost
their property and the Blücher family had to
leave the estate Teschow as well.
When Germany re-united, the trustee organization took
over the estate and sold it in
the the 90's.
